GO LIGHTER. GO FURTHER. GO HARD.
Fine-tuned for lighter users, the ZED 9 strikes an ideal balance of a lightweight build,
easy-to-use feature set, and uncompromised downhill performance and safety.
New for 2022, an updated and sleek black colour scheme.
Starting with the proven platform of the ION, we looked at every part, every mechanism, and every screw to evolve the idea of a fully-featured binding at the lightest weight possible. With the ZED we set out to define the next generation of lightweight high-performance touring bindings.
Anti-snowpacking features built into the toe and brake designs keep snow away and make for a confidence-inspiring step-in. Optimal toe elasticity for maximum energy absorption & minimized prerelease. 8.5 mm range of forward pressure in the heel to maintain consistent release. Wide freeride mount transfers power to the ski & provides pull-out resistance. The wide center support of the turret and a metal wrap-around base transfer power and precision to the ski. Leashes, Brakes, and Stomp Pads are sold separately.

Great value for money and low weight.
The render makes it look nicer than in reality but it’s good quality regardless for a kit at discount. Very satisfied!
Upgraded from Onyx to Zed but I didn't want to give up my bellowed Scarpa F3s. G3 made a bellowed boot shim for the Onyx bindings but have no such offering for the Zed. I managed to find the boot shims that came with my F3s years ago and used those to shim up the ball of my foot for downhill skiing. I realize that this is non-warrantied behaviour but I don't care. I'm 270 lbs and I hit the groomers hard to see how they would work. No matter what I did the boots did not release when they shouldn't, so I'm very happy. We'll see how the toe pins hold up in the long term but I'm not worried. So happy to continue using my F3s.
Long story short… I have been putting quite a few hours on these for the past two years and they have been flawless. No prerelease, no icing up, no breakage. They do what they have to. This is my second pair of Zeds and could not be happier.
super good and simple binding
